This article discusses online harassment, doxxing, buddy-trolling, and digital mob targeting. It names specific systems and mechanics of predation. If you are in crisis, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988 (US).

This article is not here to comfort you. It is here to arm you. What follows is a documented analysis of how organized online predation operates, why certain communities are systematically targeted, and what you — whether you are a survivor, a loved one, or a clinician — need to understand to stop being part of the pattern and start being part of the defense.

This analysis draws on a multi-source qualitative data pipeline that examined 91 entries — 70 survivor-focused accounts and 21 support-network perspectives — documenting the mechanics of buddy-trolling, doxxing, lolcow culture, and institutional betrayal as they specifically target neurodivergent adults, trauma survivors, and SFW age-regression communities. The patterns described here are not anecdotal. They are structurally predictable. And structural problems require structural responses.

Core Analysis

Trust as the specific clinical injury. Rebuilding trust-discrimination after it's been burned out. Somatic approaches to notification-trigger responses. Narrative therapy for the "grooming" narrative — helping clients rewrite the story from "I was fooled" to "I was targeted by a trained manipulator."

The machinery of online predation is not inevitable. It is designed. It has architects, operators, and economic incentives. Naming it — naming the buddy-troll's five stages, the doxxing pipeline, the lolcow economy, the institutional betrayal pattern — is not paranoia. It is intelligence.

And intelligence is the first requirement of defense.
